About This Video

If you’ve been around my channel for any length of time, you’ll know I’m a big lover of Wingback pens—beautifully made, small English company, proper luxury that’s built to be used. In this video I’m reviewing the Wingback Journeyman ballpoint, specifically the Limited Edition British Racing Green collaboration with FRAHM. I walk through the packaging (simple black card, and that excellent cork stand that doubles as a desk base), then get into the design details: the twist mechanism, the high-quality knurling, the flat top with the Wingback logo worked into the clip cutout, and that very stiff brass clip that also acts as a roll stop. The big evolution here is practicality. Wingback extended the pen so it can take the super-common Parker G2 style refill (it ships with a Schmidt EasyFlow 9000), which opens the door to dozens and dozens of refill options. I talk size and weight (this one is a hefty 53g), do a quick writing sample, and cover ergonomics—especially how the clip can be felt in the webbing of your hand if you rotate it the wrong way, and how ballpoints tend to like a more vertical writing angle. I also get real about the price: it’s expensive (the green limited edition is more again), but for me it’s a long-term, everyday investment that’ll last decades if you look after it.
