About This Video

Today I’m reviewing the Majohn (Moonman… because apparently we’re doing both names now) P136 Blue Metal, a piston-filling pen that’s very clearly inspired by the Montblanc Solitaire Blue Hour. I’ll walk you through the parts and features, the finish, and the overall build—because honestly, the first thing you notice is how gorgeous this thing is. It’s got that patterned metal look under a smooth resin-like coating, and the way it catches the light is just brilliant. I also cover practical stuff like the clip, the cap band engraving, the threads (you do feel them), and how it posts. I run through size comparisons (Lamy Safari, the original plastic P136, and the Majohn P140), plus full dimensions and weight. At 57g it’s not subtle—35g in the body and 22g in the cap—so I personally prefer it unposted for balance. For the writing sample I’m using Waterman Mysterious Blue, and the fine steel #6 nib on mine has been reliable straight out of the box: smooth with a touch of feedback, on the wetter side, no hard starts, no ink starvation. My main gripes are the two-tone nib (I’d rather it be all silver) and the slightly clunky threads—but for around $60 AUD, it’s a lot of pen for the money, and one of the most beautiful pens in my collection.
