Well, here we are—February 2026, and it’s time for my monthly “what I am writing with” rotation. In this video I run through the pens that are actually on my desk (and in my pocket) right now: a mix of long-term favourites, pens that carried over from last month, and a handful that are inked specifically because I’m lining them up for reviews and comparisons. It’s a pretty good snapshot of what I genuinely reach for when I’m journaling day-to-day, and it also gives you a bit of a hint about what’s coming on the channel this month. I talk nib reality (especially the Pelikan M1000 “fine” that is absolutely not fine in the way a Japanese fine is), why ink choice matters in wet writers like the Gravitas Monster, and why some pens—even ones I love—don’t always earn a regular spot (yes, the Pilot Custom Urushi is gorgeous, but it’s huge).
