About This Video

In this video I’m reviewing the Benu Tessera in the Sunstone finish, and I’ll just say it up front: I’ve really been enjoying using this pen. I walk through the newer Benu packaging (which feels a bit more deluxe while still keeping that Benu flavour), what you get in the box (converter, a standard international long cartridge, and the booklet), and then we get into the pen itself—cap shape, clip, the satin body finish, and those polished facet lines that catch the light beautifully. I also cover the practical stuff: it’s a twist cap (about 1 and 3/4 turns), it uses a #6 Schmidt steel nib (mine is a Fine), and it takes standard international cartridges/converter. I do a writing sample with SBRE Brown, and this nib is exactly why I’ve been enjoying Schmidt nibs lately—smooth, reliable, nicely wet, with just a gentle bit of bounce. I go through size comparisons, full dimensions, weight, and posting (which is excellent and very secure), then wrap up with pros/cons: the price is a bit premium for a plastic pen with a steel nib, the grip is on the slimmer side, but the design is clean by Benu standards, the build quality is great, and the ergonomics make it a real joy to use.
