If I Don’t Harvest Today, I Lose It All

After several rounds of heavy rain and severe storms, it was finally time to get out into the garden and harvest everything we could before losing more produce to splitting, pests, and storm damage. In today’s rainy garden harvest, we’re picking tomatoes, cucumbers, purple pole beans, bell peppers, garlic, and more from our backyard vegetable garden and homestead. The volunteer cucumber plants are completely taking over, the Speckled Roman and Banana Legs tomatoes are producing like crazy, and we even check in on the hydroponic system, arch trellis, flowers, and melons growing through all this wet weather. We also talk about mite damage, replanting garden beds, preserving harvests, seed saving, and the reality of gardening during storm season before hurricane season even begins.
