With heavy clay soil, this first season calls for light tilling and lots of organic matter like compost, manure, biochar, and wood ash to improve drainage and soil structure. I’m also sharing a quick winter harvest, mulching plans, and a few new additions to the property as we slowly build this homestead from the ground up.
