I just finished building out my new office at the Prism Lens Effects warehouse, so I wanted to give you a quick tour and highlight my favorite pieces—because the setup you work in really does affect how you create. The star of the room is my custom top-down rig: I built it around a Uline table, added a Home Depot wood top, and had the metal custom cut and fitted from IMS. I run my RED Komodo on it with two Amaran F22C’s, so I can knock out clean top-down shots, but it also doubles as a legit camera prep table when I’m getting ready for a gig. I’m also obsessed with my desk—my sister-in-law built it custom and it’s 10 feet long. At my last office I had a tiny standup desk and it just wasn’t cutting it, so having real space to spread out gear and work is a game changer. I added Etsy shelves/cubbies from Austin Living to stage little design pieces, plus some ‘90s kid touches like RCA video discs as wall art and a refurbished/modded N64 loaded with every game. And right outside the office, I built a feature wall that tells the story of Prism Lens Effects—from a 175 sq ft shed to where we are now—which is a daily reminder of the journey and what we’ve built.
