In this video I’m talking about something I see way too often: people trying to copy and emulate their peers instead of leaning into what makes them them. If you’re constantly watching what someone else is doing and thinking, “I want to do that because it’s making money,” you’re already starting from the wrong place. The biggest takeaway is simple—build around your strengths, your skill sets, and what you genuinely care about, not what looks trendy in your industry. I share a real example from my own life: in 2018 I started opening film studios because it was something I genuinely wanted to do. The opportunity presented itself, my wife and I had the idea, and it fit our life and where we were going. It also leaned into our strengths—like interior design—and it made sense for us. After that, I watched a lot of people in my circles try to do the same thing just because they saw my success, and most of them ended up failing and closing down. The difference wasn’t luck—it was intention. If you pursue something with pure intentions and real passion, your odds go way up. If you chase it for the wrong reasons, failure is way more likely.
