In this video, I show you how to scan documents on your iPhone for free using the built-in Notes app (the one with the yellow bar). I walk you through creating a new note, tapping the paperclip icon, and choosing “Scan Documents” so you can capture multiple pages quickly. I also explain the difference between Auto and Manual scanning—Auto will just start snapping pages as you move, but I personally prefer switching to Manual so I have time to line things up and get a clean scan. Once your pages are scanned, I show you how to review each page before saving—cropping, cleaning it up, and switching between color and grayscale if you want. Then I show you how to share the scan as a PDF through Messages or your favorite email like Gmail (and the Mail app). One big tip: before you send it, make sure it’s set to “Send Copy” instead of “Collaborate,” so it actually goes out as a PDF. Finally, I show you the optional setting that lets Notes save your scans directly to the Photos app for safekeeping.
