Ubiquiti dropped two absolute goldies into the UniFi bridge lineup, and in this video I put both of them through real-world testing. First up is the new UDB Bridge IoT — basically the little sibling to the original bridge — and it’s built for 2.4 GHz. You power it over USB‑C, it pops straight into the UniFi app with Wi‑Fi device auto link, and it gives you a simple LAN port for things like printers, gate systems, intercoms, or cameras. In my testing I was seeing around 50–60 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, which is genuinely impressive for what this thing is. Then I got a bit silly with the range tests: I mounted it on a pole with a USB‑C power bank and pushed it across a field to a U7 Outdoor. At 440 ft I still had a solid connection and acceptable ping for IoT, and even at 550 ft I could still ping the internet — crazy. Speed at that extreme range was about 1.5 Mbps, so no, you’re not streaming 4K Netflix, but for sensors and basic connectivity it’s spot on. After that, I moved onto the UDB Switch, which is honestly the one that made me grin: 2.5GbE ports, one 10GbE port, PoE on the ports, and a built-in 5/6 GHz wireless bridge so you can backhaul a whole switch without running an uplink cable. With strong 6 GHz signal to a U7, I averaged about 1.2 Gbps — and it felt basically like being hardwired.
