After installing countless UI systems over the years, this has to be my favourite Network and protect deployment yet, at our own festival, summit events. About This Video

In this video I’m walking you through what’s easily my favourite UniFi deployment I’ve ever done — building a full network + Protect camera setup to run our own festival summit event. Over a 9.5-hour day we ran three switches, three access points, five cameras, one Cloud Gateway Fiber and a few PoE injectors, pushing about 65GB of traffic while keeping POS/card readers, internal comms, and live streams happy. And no, we didn’t use Starlink — I used an old point-to-point kit and a local villager’s home internet, which honestly saved the day. I show how I built the “brain board” around the Cloud Gateway Fiber (running Network, Access and Protect), how I used Flex switches powered by PoE to light up APs and cameras in places with zero mains power, and why cameras like the PoE Industrial PTZ and the AI DSLR were absolute game-changers for recording artists in 4K. I also go into the boring-but-critical config: WAN QoS headroom, a properly segregated guest network with device isolation, bandwidth limits for guests, 5GHz-only for most clients, a dedicated 2.4GHz SSID for picky POS devices, and Minimum RSSI to kick off weak clients. End result: solid Wi‑Fi all day, no vendor payment issues, and 700GB of footage archived straight to my NAS.
