I spent hours and hours reading Meta’s API documentation so you don’t have to—and then I rebuilt the core “ManyChat-style” features directly with Meta’s official Messenger/Instagram APIs + n8n. The whole point is simple: a lot of the stuff people pay $15+/month for in ManyChat can be done for free if you’re willing to wire the API calls inside n8n. In this video I walk you through the exact features I implemented and how they behave inside Messenger, so you can improve customer experience without a subscription. I start from the foundation: creating a Meta app in developers.facebook.com, adding the Messenger product, setting up the webhook, and generating access tokens (I reference my other tutorial for the full setup). Then I demo the features live: mark as seen, typing on/off indicators, URL buttons, postback buttons, call buttons, persistent menu, and quick replies (including phone number and email capture). I also show multiple Messenger templates like button templates, generic/media/product-style structures, receipt/order confirmation, customer feedback, and structured info forms (like shipping address).
