In this video I show you how I make my OpenClaw agents 10x more powerful using the real trio that matters: skills, tools, and plugins. Skills are basically markdown files (skill.md) that define how the agent behaves. Tools are functions the agent can call at runtime to fetch data or take actions. But the easiest and safest way to supercharge your agent—especially when you want Google integrations—is plugins, because they let you extend the gateway runtime with real executable capabilities. I walk you through connecting Gmail and Google Calendar to OpenClaw without writing a single line of code. Instead of dealing with painful Google Cloud Console auth or sketchy skills, I use MCP servers built in n8n. I create an MCP server for Gmail (read emails, draft, send, delete, labels, mark read/unread) and another for Google Calendar (create, update, delete, list events). Then I connect those MCP endpoints into my openclaw.json via the OpenClaw MCP adapter plugin. After that, I can ask my agent things like “what’s the latest email in my inbox (not promotions)?” or “what did I have on Sunday the 15th?” and it pulls the real data and answers instantly.
