In this video, I show you the exact n8n workflow I built that automatically posts to Instagram—Reels, Stories, and a feed post—without using any third-party scheduling app. I run a quick demo first so you can see it working in real time: one click and n8n posts all three formats to my Instagram. Then I walk you step-by-step through the Meta setup, because the “secret sauce” here is getting your Instagram connected properly through Facebook/Meta so n8n can publish on your behalf. I start by making sure your Instagram is linked to your Facebook Page, then I create a Meta Developer app from scratch, add the Instagram product, and switch the app to Live mode (yes, you’ll need a Privacy Policy URL—if you don’t have one, I explain my quick workaround). After that, I add your Instagram account as a tester and accept the invite from Instagram settings. Inside n8n, we use the Facebook Graph API node (Meta owns Instagram, so this is normal) and connect it with a long-lived access token generated via Facebook Login (I recommend this because it’s more reliable). Finally, I explain the two-step publish flow: create a media container, poll the upload status until it’s FINISHED, then call media_publish using the creation_id. Once you understand that pattern, you can schedule it, pull media from Google Drive, and let your content post while you sleep.
