I literally bought a bunch of skincare brands made for tweens/kids and put them to the test—texture, smell, packaging (yes, it matters), and most importantly: what’s actually in them. I started with Yes Day (cute packaging, gentle formulas, mostly clean—except that lip mask score, yikes), then moved into Pipa (fragrance-free icons) and Reie, aka the tiny animal sheet masks that weirdly fit my face better than adult ones. I also tried Ever Eden and immediately became emotionally attached because the bottles have little faces on them. Like, I’m sorry—Janice ate. Then I compared all that to “adult” brands that the preppy girlies and kids keep grabbing anyway—Byoma, Glow Recipe, Drunk Elephant, and Bubble—because I wanted to see if the ingredient lists actually match the hype. Some were surprisingly clean (Byoma’s gel cream is a 100/100 moment), but others had lower scores, and I’m not here for kids using wrinkle serums or glycolic night treatments. My big takeaway: most kid/tween skincare brands are actually cleaner than a lot of adult skincare, and you can feel pretty good sticking to the kid-targeted lines. My personal faves? Hit Refresh mist from Sincerely Yours, Ever Eden SPF, and those Reie animal masks (I’m buying more, sorry to the three-year-olds).
