I gathered all my friends and we played Dress to Impress in real life… at Coachella. We had 5 minutes per round (FIVE!!!) to throw together looks, hit a “runway,” and rate each other with whiteboards based on theme, execution, and overall style. Round one was “edgy,” which immediately made me think black, spikes, and sunglasses—like, I’m not getting ready in five minutes in my literal entire life, but we did what we had to do. The judging was brutal (and chaotic), we had accusations of VIP stylists, and yes… bare feet were involved. Then I added twists because obviously. Round two was “colorful,” but we had to walk and get rated as pairs, so it became equal parts fashion and theater. Round three was “festival favorite,” and everyone had to pull a secret challenge that affected their score—like dancing the entire runway, speaking in an accent, wearing something incorrectly, or even being forced to give someone a zero no matter what. It was messy, hilarious, and somehow I still ended up getting crowned the winner at the end. Pinkies up if you made it this far.
