About This Video

Today I challenged myself to do a full face of makeup using ONLY art supplies… yes, actual markers, paint, construction paper, glitter, rhinestones—the stuff you’re definitely not supposed to put on your face. I set rules (no makeup tools from home, everything has to come from Michaels, and I’m allowed one emergency “makeup-adjacent” item), then I went on a chaotic craft store haul and immediately knew this could turn out either iconic or demonic. Once I realized I had a flight in a couple hours, I packed my entire art-supply “makeup kit” and did the look in Florida. I blocked my brows with a purple glue stick, tried mica powders to blur them out (they ended up shiny, which was honestly kind of fun), and then used washable project paint as a streaky white base—pray for my skin. After experimenting with watercolors and pigments, I built a watercolor-style face, added flowers as eyebrow petals, made metallic hot-glue “gold tears,” and hand-painted butterfly wings that I literally glued to my face for the plot. The final look is giving caterpillar-turned-butterfly storyline, and I’m not even mad about it.
