About This Video

In this video I’m telling a quick (and honestly kinda painful) story about why I built a MicroSaaS in just one day. I was scrolling Twitter and found a guy who built a SaaS that solved a super specific problem. I was impressed, and as a software developer I knew I could probably figure it out—but I still wanted to support him. He said it was $1.5, so I was literally about to buy it. Then I clicked the link and the price suddenly spiked from $1.5 to $4. That moment hit me hard—I felt cheated. If he said $4 from the start, I wouldn’t even mind, but the switch right at checkout made me back out. Instead of staying disappointed, I redirected that energy into building my own version. I coded the layout in about a day, then after my 9–5 I started backend work around 6 PM and finished the MVP around 10 PM. The tool is for creating YouTube thumbnails, and I’m planning to turn it into a SaaS for other people too—probably with a trial version. The big takeaway: when something annoys you, you can either complain or leverage your skills and ship.
