About This Video

In this video I take a close look at HumminGuru’s new water dispenser, designed to work with both the HumminGuru Nova and the original HumminGuru. The whole idea is simple: take the hard work (and the mess) out of measuring and pouring water for different record sizes, and make the experience feel a bit less “manual” and a bit more like a Degritter. I’ve reviewed both HumminGuru machines before, and while I really like the Nova as a relatively affordable automatic ultrasonic cleaner, I’ve always found the water measuring/topping-up side of things a bit cumbersome. The dispenser replaces the existing tank and, honestly, my favourite upgrade here is the bigger 650ml capacity. With the standard setup it’s very easy for the water level to drop after just one, two, or three records thanks to evaporation—so this alone saves a lot of faff. It’s USB-C rechargeable (one charge does over 500 dispenses), it has preset buttons for 12/10-inch and 7-inch records, plus manual control, and I like the included viewing light for judging water clarity. Bottom line: it does exactly what it says on the tin and functions flawlessly. It’s not free—over $100/just over £100—and it adds weight, space, and different filters, but it’s a strong bolt-on compromise that helps plug the gap toward the Degritter-style “automatic” experience without Degritter money.
