Want to remove pops and clicks from your vinyl records? Vinyl Studio makes it really simple and in this video, I'll show you how with real audio results. Vinyl Studio has a "cleanup audio" function that scans your recording of a vinyl record and automatically cleans up pops and clicks. For a more surgical approach, there is also a manual click removal tool, which may better preserve the records sound quality while also removing the more offending surface noise snap, crackle and pop of well-loved records. About This Video

In this video I’m taking a proper look at Vinyl Studio’s cleanup tools—specifically how you can remove unwanted pops, clicks, and general surface noise after you’ve already recorded a record into your computer. I use a spoken-word record as a safe example (no copyright headaches), but the workflow is exactly the same for music. I start by playing the raw recording so you can hear the problem spots, then I head straight to the “Clean up audio” tab to show what Vinyl Studio can do. First, I run the automatic scan using the default settings, and we listen to the before/after. It’s genuinely impressive how quickly it finds and repairs clicks, and Vinyl Studio even shows you where it processed the waveform. Then I show the more surgical option: the manual click repair tool. If one annoying click survives the automatic pass, I zoom in, redraw the waveform on each channel, and it’s gone. Finally, I deliberately push things too far with the “remove lots of crackle” preset to show the trade-off. Yes, you can remove more noise, but you can also introduce distortion and lose crispness—so you absolutely need to experiment with sensitivity and protections to avoid removing the good stuff along with the bad.
