About This Video

Hey besties—this vlog is basically me chasing a 5,000-word day on the third and final draft of my YA debut romance, Into the Limelight (fake dating, enemies to lovers, contemporary… you already know the vibes). It’s rainy and gloomy outside, which is literally the perfect writing ambience, so I start the day at my favorite bookstore cafe with my sister, a pistachio matcha cookie (9/10, by the way), and a goal to lock in. I only get 500 words at the cafe, but considering my recent ā€œhighestā€ has been around 700, I’m actually really proud of that session. Back home, I go full editing gremlin mode—multiple passes on one scene because I can’t move forward until I’m as happy as I can be (final draft pressure is real). I also show you the cutest mug I could not leave behind (ā€œMore cats, more napsā€), and I share a signed copy of Nightshade Academy from Lost Island Press, which genuinely makes me want to publish my own book even more. By the end of the night I’m rewriting scenes from scratch, fixing a subplot, smoothing Ray and Jordan’s emotional arc, and riding that momentum all the way to 4,953 words at 12:20 a.m. We’re rounding up, okay? The biggest takeaway: sometimes you just need a little push to prove you can write more than you think.
