In this cozy writing vlog, I’m officially stepping into my first edits as an agented author (still feels unreal to say). I got my edit letter from my agent for Into the Limelight, and instead of jumping straight into line edits, I made a revision plan that starts with a full reread on my Kindle. It’s been over seven months since I read the manuscript front-to-back, so I wanted that “reader brain” perspective—pacing, romance arc, plot holes, and the parts that genuinely grab me (or bore me). I annotate directly on my Kindle and keep an ongoing notes list on my phone so nothing slips through. Halfway through the reread, I hit a few chapters I wasn’t totally satisfied with, which was honestly a little disheartening… but also exactly why rereads matter. I finished the reread (with extensive notes), and then I showed you how I’m organizing everything for round one edits—my agent’s edit letter, her inline feedback, my chapter-by-chapter notes, and a master revision plan—using a super visual Milanote board because I need it to be organized and cute or I will spiral. And in the middle of all that, I had a huge breakthrough: I finally found a way to get Jordan on the page in chapter one (without sacrificing Ray’s setup), which is going to make the opening so much stronger before submission.
