In this video I’m covering what it’s actually like living with the DualSense Edge for 6 months—features, real-world pros and cons, and whether it’s worth your money. I break down what you get for $199 (controller, premium hard case, braided cable, extra stick caps, and two styles of metal back buttons), and I’ll be honest: some of the extras are nice, but I didn’t end up using everything. The case feels super premium and the braided cable is high quality, but the alternate stick caps weren’t my favorite because they can feel slippery for long sessions. Where the DualSense Edge really shines is on PS5. My favorite features are the adjustable triggers and the customization—trigger sensitivity, stick sensitivity, vibration, back button mapping, and profiles. I used it to beat Spider-Man Miles Morales and the short trigger pulls felt super clutch for web swinging, even if you lose some of that adaptive trigger feel. The most consumer-friendly feature is the swappable thumbstick modules—thumbstick drift doesn’t have to be a controller death sentence anymore. But I also talk about the deal breakers: the price is insane at full retail and the battery life is rough (I get around 6 hours). And if you’re buying this for PC, I don’t recommend it—wired is basically required for features, Bluetooth kills them, and you need a PS5 to edit profiles. My verdict: amazing PS5 experience, but wait for a sale.
