This week’s “peak entertainment” is me finally dealing with the tiny gear closet in my office—the one I’ve been using as a dumping ground for tripods, tech loans I need to send back, random cables, and… apparently a decade-old Muji clock I’ve been looking for. I’ve been filming more, I have a bunch of videos I’m excited about, and my office was officially in wreck mode. So I turned this into a weekend project vlog, because yes, sometimes I absolutely make a video just so I’ll clean my office. The main goal: fit all my tripods into that closet and keep the stuff I actually use accessible. I’m in my organizational era, but I’m also the queen of side missions—day one I got distracted reorganizing my Husky drawers/tool chest, then day two I finally tackled the closet. Along the way I found some gems (and a lot of trash), set up a more hidden hair light by wall-mounting it, and I even did a mini A-roll “shot perfection” tangent—switching to a 120d, diffusing the light with a white sheet, and swapping lenses to the Sony 50mm f/1.2 at f/1.8 because maturing is knowing 1.2 is not always the vibe. Also: small gear rant included. Bigger is not better with tripod heads, and I will die on that hill.
