In this video I do a full honest teardown and review of the KiiBOOM Moonshadow V2, a 75% full-aluminium keyboard that’s built like a tank and is insanely easy to open up thanks to the ball-catch (rapid disassembly) design. I go through what you get in the box (extra plate, Mac keycaps, extra switches, puller, braided cable with dongle storage), then I break down the internals—gaskets, foam layers, plastic sheet, battery mounting, and how the whole sandwich is put together. I also test the RGB properly, because out of the box it can look dim depending on the build. I compare it directly with the KiiBOOM Phantom 81 Lite and then I swap different switches to show how translucent tops and diffusers change dispersion. My takeaway: the black FR4 plate and black foams limit light spread, but it’s super fixable—swap to the included PC plate and/or add a thin white foam layer. Final verdict: the Moonshadow V2 has a premium aluminium feel and a creamy sound profile that’s even better in person. It’s hot-swap, wireless, VIA supported, and very mod-friendly, but there’s no dust cover, no adjustable feet, and the 6000mAh battery drained faster than I expected in my use.
