About This Video

About 9–10 months after my Creo Swarm review, I finally got my hands on the KREO HIVE75 HE — a 75% Hall Effect keyboard that’s clearly chasing the current rapid-trigger trend. In this video, I go through the unboxing, the basics (layout, knob, feet/grips, minimal case flex), and then I compare what the product page claims versus what you actually get. I also test the RGB (decent brightness, shine-through caps help), check the web-based software (works, but calibration can show buggy values), and talk about features like adjustable travel up to 3.22mm and SOCD (A/D) which worked fine for me. Then I do what I always do: teardown. I show you the internal foam layers, the clever cost-saving design where the frame acts as the positioning plate, and where you can mod it (tape mod, adding foam to reduce hollowness and improve RGB diffusion/cushioning). I also call out the stuff people skip: the knob feels a bit odd (small and slightly lifted), the board sounds a bit hollow, the keycaps are mostly shine-through ABS (only the purple esc is PBT), and I ran into a random D-key multi-register issue. On top of that, I’m still not convinced about after-sales support, and there’s a scanning-rate claim (128K) that may actually be 64K based on the chipset. My verdict: performance is fine, modding potential is good, but at ~4K there are better options unless they fix the keycaps and keep pricing aggressive.
