About This Video

My birthday is in like three days, so I did a whole GRWM for a fun at-home birthday photoshoot—because save our coin, sis. In this video I’m setting up a DIY home studio in my living room, showing you what I grabbed from Dollar Tree and Goodwill, and walking through how I plan my shots so the night doesn’t turn into pure chaos. I used a $3 white sheet from Goodwill as my backdrop, added balloons and a few cute accessories, and made sure my tripod, lights, and camera settings were right before I even touched hair and makeup. After that, I got into the beauty part: I kept it simple with my U-part wig and my regular makeup routine (nothing too extra), because I already knew I could edit and enhance the final photos later. I also shared a few practical tips that really helped—like using my Apple Watch as a remote/preview so I can see my angles, and the little “spotlight” hack using a paper towel roller behind the phone for that focused light. Even when my hair started acting up, I pushed through, switched up the background with more Dollar Tree finds, and served the baddy confidence. We wrapped around 11 PM, and I’m telling you: you can get cute birthday photos at home on a budget.
