In this video I’m showing you my easy press-on nail routine that lets me get that “just left the salon” look at home—without spending salon money, girl. I walk you through my full step-by-step from nail prep to application, because prep is what really makes press-ons last. I start by cleaning my nails, pushing my cuticles back, and lightly buffing the nail surface to remove oils so the glue has something to grip. I also use acetone (you can use alcohol if you prefer), and I like adding a base gel polish as a little protection barrier between my natural nails and the glue. After that, I take my time sizing each press-on so it fits sidewall to sidewall without overlapping my skin. I apply glue to both my natural nail and the press-on, then hold it down for 20–30 seconds to lock it in. One of my best tips is making sure your nails are completely clean and dry—no oils, no lotions—because that’s when lifting happens fast. I also share the trick I learned about filing around the cuticle area so everything blends seamlessly, then I finish with cuticle oil to keep it looking healthy and polished. My nails have been lasting up to about a month (as long as I’m wearing gloves when I wash dishes), and I’m all about saving those coins while still looking put together.
