This one was chaos from the jump because I was literally missing the race trying to get YouTube to behave. I ended up with two streams going at once, couldn’t find the button to end the other one, and I needed y’all to recap what I’d missed. Very humbling, very “I need more professional filming material,” but once we were actually back, it turned into a pretty classic Abu Dhabi vibe: some moments, a lot of underwhelming stretches, and a whole bunch of FIA “you get a penalty and you get a penalty.” On the championship side, I was pretty honest: my heart wants Oscar, but realistically it was always going to be between Max and Lando. I’ve kind of internalized the idea of Norris as champion already, and if he wins it, it’s deserved—same for Max if he somehow pulled it off. I also talked through why I’m not fully sold on Lando as “world champion material” in that old-school ruthless sense (and I still want to see him properly go wheel-to-wheel and win against Max), but I’ll give him credit for growth and consistency—especially compared to Oscar’s second-half drop. By the end, it felt “done and dusted,” with Lando taking the title and giving us an emotional (and very meme-able) radio. I was happy for him… and still kind of more annoyed about McLaren trying to look squeaky-clean than about Norris actually winning.
