Ableton Live 12.3 is here! And it finally delivers. From Stem Separation to Splice integration and Bounce to Groups, this update isn’t just playing catch-up. It’s changing how we sample, slice, and produce inside Ableton Live. In this video, I break down the 3 biggest workflow improvements in Ableton Live 12.3: ✅ Stem Separation – Split any audio clip into Vocals, Drums, Bass, and Other directly inside Live. No third-party plugins. No cloud processing. ✅ Slice Integration – Splice is now built into Ableton’s browser. Preview in sync, drag straight in, and search with rhythm-based filters. Even works with free Splice accounts. ✅ Bounce Group Tracks – Finally, you can flatten entire groups, including return tracks, with a right-click. Massive for resampling and simplifying big sessions. 📲 Connect with Me 📸 Instagram: @pushpatterns 🐤 TikTok: @pushpatterns 🌍 Website: www.PushPatterns.com 👋 Who Am I? I’m Craig, a musician, Ableton specialist, and music tech lecturer with over 10 years of teaching experience at top universities like ACM, BIMM, ICMP, and WaterBear. I’ve taught thousands of producers how to master Ableton Live and Push 3, helping them go from feeling overwhelmed to actually finishing tracks. Beyond teaching, I’ve worked as an Ableton playback tech on primetime FOX TV shows like Name That Tune and Don’t Forget the Lyrics and as an Ableton tech for artists like Years & Years, Melanie C (Spice Girls), and Sam Fender. I’ve also played at legendary venues like Brixton Academy and Madison Square Garden. I created Push Patterns to offer structured, no-nonsense courses for producers who want to stop guessing and start making music. 📩 Get in Touch Got a question? About This Video

Ableton Live 12.3 is here, and it finally delivers some of the most requested features—plus one total surprise. In this video I break down the three biggest workflow upgrades that genuinely change how I sample and build tracks inside Live: Stem Separation, Splice integration, and Bounce to Groups. The headline for me is that Live is now solving a massive sampling headache without sending you off to third‑party tools or awkward workarounds. First, Stem Separation lets me right‑click any audio clip and split it into Vocals, Drums, Bass, and Other as new audio tracks inside a group. The vocals can be seriously impressive (it even keeps reverbs and echoes), but it’s not perfect—my drum and “other” stems can introduce digital artifacts and bleed. Next, Splice is now built into Live’s browser, so I can preview samples in sync with my track, drag them straight in, and even use rhythm-based filters and AI search—without burning credits just for previewing, and it works on a free account too. Finally, Bounce Group Tracks lets me flatten whole groups (including returns) with a right‑click, which is huge for resampling and simplifying big sessions. Live 12.3 goes above and beyond—and for sampling, it’s a game changer.
