About This Video

In this one I’m finishing the planting on the Fluval Flex 2.0 and getting it from “setup” to “okay, this is actually a planted tank now.” The video is mostly the vibe of the build—music-heavy—while I buy and harvest plants, then start placing everything to lock in the look. This is the fun part for me: turning a clean kit into something that feels alive, layered, and intentional. Plant-wise, I’m mixing easy, reliable epiphytes with a couple statement pieces so the tank has contrast right away and room to mature. I’m using Red Tiger Lotus as a focal plant, Monte Carlo for that low carpet potential, and then a bunch of Buce and Anubias to fill hardscape and add texture without needing to be planted in the substrate. Crypt parva is in there too for slow, compact foreground structure. The big takeaway: start with plants that are forgiving, place them with growth in mind, and let the Flex 2.0 do what it does best—be a clean, simple platform for a planted aquascape.
