Fluval Flora: Anoxic Reset

#fluval #plenum #anoxicfilter Today I show you a reset I've been wanting to do for awhile. There were a few things I skipped over a bit either because I forgot, or it would drift off scope to far. Here are some answers to your questions I’m anticipating from curious viewers. First, I never show the canister filter, its a Fluval 107. I also never mention the fish that were in the tank, but they where moved to the MEGA Flex. My shrimp issue and the possible treatment I'm trying is a first for me. I mention it, but I'll report back in detail when / if I see results. Lastly, I'm aware of the dust up between Dr. Novak and Corey. Although I was mildly surprised to hear Corey seemed to dismiss anoxic flirtation out of hand, I thought his response was reasonable. There's a lot of ways to keep a tank and preferring one way over another does not make you a bad fish keeper, especially if things are working well. If he doesn't want to talk about it right now it shouldn't be a big deal. The Dr's response was surprising to me and hyperbolic. Reading a letter as a proxy for your own gripes was the wrong way to go, and the gripes were way past the reality of the situation. That's just my opinion, take it or leave it. I believe the stuff Dr. Novak has been talking about has real merit, so I'm going to continue using what he taught us. I've spoke with him at length in the past and believe he knows what he's talking about in this regard. I'm not a scientist or a salesmen just a dude trying to make aquariums that work really well. I personally like combining methods that may have worked all on their own. Chasing an optimized system simply because it’s fun to think about. I hope that clears up any questions you had.
