In this video I review the Stanley SL18910P-3 wet/dry vac (3 gallon, 3.0 HP peak) and why I think it’s one of the most practical little shop vacs you can own. I’ve used a lot of vacuums over the years, including the big 10–15 gallon units, and I’m telling you—this compact one has unbelievable power for its size. I had just finished doing maintenance inside an air handler, and it was easy to get in there, move around, and clean up without wrestling a huge vacuum. I show how loud it is when you turn it on (it’s a little bit loud), but the suction is totally amazing. It’s lightweight, handy, and easy to get in and out, which is exactly what I want for quick jobs around the house or for vacuuming the car. I also go over the attachments—there’s a thin nozzle, and when you want a brush, you just add it on. Inside, it uses a self-contained bag that catches the dirt. For me, carrying capability is a 10/10 and suction capability is a 10/10 for the size and horsepower. This isn’t an endorsement—I bought it myself—and overall I highly recommend it if you want something portable that can still pick up the major stuff.
