About This Video

In this 127-second no-BS guide, I break down how I read books better than most people—without turning it into some romantic “read more” fantasy. First, I make reading automatic: I track it with a habit app (TickTick or Habitify), and I attach it to a trigger I already do every day—like drinking coffee. Then I set a “bare minimum embarrassment level” (one page a day). It’s small enough to never miss, but the point is consistency—if I can read 100 pages, I’ll take it. Next, I treat books like inputs I curate. If a book doesn’t hook me after 50–100 pages, I drop it and move on. I mix genres (practical + fiction + philosophy/history/science), keep a reading list with my next 10 books ready, and I only take recommendations from people who actually read. Then I process what I read: I make a Notion entry per book, rewrite ideas in my own words, summarize chapters in 1–2 sentences, and ask “How will I use this?” If it won’t change how I think or act, it’s trivia. Finally, I lock it in with the 10-10-10 review rule, the Feynman technique, and even audiobooks at 2x—because not every page deserves equal attention. Now close this page and open the goddamn book.
