About This Video

Lately I’m seeing more people ditch iPhones for old-school bricks with buttons, or deliberately dumbing down their smartphones—and I totally support it. We’re all trying to escape the pressure of being online 24/7, fight FOMO, and actually live in the present moment. In this video I show the exact phone setup that helps me do that: practical, productive, and still connected… without going full monk mode. The whole point is simple: I made this little piece of technology work for me, not against me. I’m using an “old” but reliable OnePlus 8 Pro (2020), and then I walk you through what’s inside: my minimalist UI with Niagara Launcher, the few widgets I actually keep (agenda from Google Calendar + a TickTick habits widget), and the folders that hold my most-used apps. I also explain why I don’t keep social media on my home screen—swiping up and searching is a very underrated move if you want to stop mindless opening and doom scrolling. Finally, I do a quick speedrun through the rest: note-taking (Google Keep + Notion), reading (Moon Reader), saving articles (Pocket), and even a meditation app (O Relax).
