About This Video

Sometimes the reason I’m not finishing a task isn’t motivation—it’s distraction. My phone is basically a slot machine: pop-up notifications, DMs, ads, short videos… it’s built to steal attention. So I switched to a hybrid planning system, and in this video I focus only on the analog part: a tiny pocket notebook that costs basically nothing, but gives me a lot back. I walk you through the exact way I set it up and how I’m using it in four scenarios: habit tracking, daily planning, idea accumulation, and quick “on the spot” notes. The habit tracker is a simple grid I redraw every four days (small notebook = small space), and I track things like waking before 7, sleeping before 11, reading, language learning, gym/cardio, learning how to be a better YouTube creator, and even mood. For daily planning, I separate recurring habits from one-off tasks on opposite pages. Then I use the notebook strap as a divider: the second half is for reflections and ideas I later transfer into Notion. The biggest win is focus and intention. Writing by hand forces me to slow down and actually think about what I’m planning—plus it keeps me off my phone, which means I get more done and create more time for rest, loved ones, or making videos like this.
