We all know how challenging it can be to get our resumes read by recruiters. After jumping through Applicant Tracking System hurdles and beating out dozens of other candidates, the last thing you want is to turn a recruiter off by starting your resume off wrong. It’s estimated that recruiters spend roughly 6-8 seconds scanning/skimming a resume to determine if a candidate is qualified enough to receive an interview. This means that time is of the essence and your value, spelling, targeting, and other items need to be concise and flawless. The beginning of your resume sets the tone for what the recruiter is about to read, explains why you’re a good candidate for the job and communicates what you can bring to the table. Even though this is the most important part of a resume many people get this wrong by starting off with: - Objective statements - Educational accomplishments - Chunky, heavy paragraphs of text - Typos and grammatical errors To ensure you’re starting your resume off right – and to enhance the chances of you landing an interview, I’ve recorded this video to help you.
