For my final trip of the year I hopped down to the birth country of dancehall and reggae, and the place where Stella got her groove back – Jamaica. I went to Jamaica earlier this year but since it was a group trip, I didn’t get to experience everything I wanted to (this is no shade to my friends!). I normally don’t double-black to places I travel to, but Jamaica was an exception. I was captivated by the beauty of the island, the language (patois), the people, and the FOOD (jerk chicken anyone?). So, in July I found a found $400 non-stop Southwest flight from Chicago to Montego Bay, Jamaica and booked it immediately. The first time I went I only stayed 5 days.
