Have you ever negotiated your salary? If you haven't, you're not alone. A recent study revealed that 55% of job seekers don't negotiate a job offer. In that same study, 73% of employers said they would be more than willing to negotiate - aka increase - an initial job offer with a candidate. When you don't negotiate your salary you leave thousands of dollars on the table. Not negotiating your salary can keep you from accomplishing personal and professional financial goals. While it would be great if companies would offer you the best salary upfront to eliminate the need for negotiation, that's simply not the case. It's important to advocate for yourself to understand if you're being offered a fair salary for the amount of work you will be doing. Ideally, you should be negotiating nearly every offer you receive, but there are some instances where you should ABSOLUTELY advocate for yourself so that you earn more.
