But there’s one MAJOR thing you REALLY shouldn’t do. It’s the THEE extreme resume NO NO. Even though this is a huge mistake that can have major consequences, 72% of people admitted to doing it on their resume during a study conducted by Business Insider. That’s nearly 3 in 4 people – which is entirely too high. So what is this one thing you ask? LYING! Lying on your resume can come back to bite you in many ways including: • Having a job offer rescinded • Being banned from working at a company • Getting fired Most people lie on their resumes to appear more qualified than they are, because they are insecure or feel inadequate, or because they want to get past the applicant tracking system.
