The Tin T2 Plus and Moondrop SSR are two new offerings that recently arrived on the market. Coming in at $60 and $40 respectively they are both very affordable entries into the market. Both IEMs have quite a forward mid range, but in different ways. One of them I find quite a good addition to the market and the other not so much. Find out which one is worth your time and money in this review. Huge thanks to Shenzhen audio for providing these for review! About This Video

In this video I compare two budget “shout boys”: the Moondrop SSR ($40) and the Tin HiFi T2 Plus ($60 MSRP, often ~$50). I go over specs, build, cables, and comfort first—because that stuff matters day-to-day. The SSR is tiny, super light, and for my ears it’s in the “Blessing 2 tier” of comfort. The T2 Plus uses that BL-03-style shell and MMCX (not my favorite), and while I don’t love the fit, Tin absolutely nailed the stock cable—it’s one of the best IEM cables I’ve seen at this price. Sound-wise, the SSR is basically a bass-rolled, extremely forward upper-mid/treble tuning that comes off bright, shouty, and thin. On top of that, I found it low-res, not very dynamic, with limp bass and weird staging (center image feels oddly “above” the sides). The T2 Plus surprised me: strong technicalities for the money, real punch and macro dynamics, and detail that’s close to what I remember from the T4. The tuning isn’t perfect—there’s some 1.5k shout plus 6k/9k peaks—but with a few EQ bands (raise 1k, lower 1.5k, tame 6k and 9k) it becomes a really solid pick. If you’re choosing between these two, I’d skip the SSR and try the T2 Plus with a little EQ.
