The Dunu SA6 is an offering from Dunu's studio line of in ear monitors. This IEM's frequency response is very reminiscent of the famed 64 Audio U12T. This combined with good all around technicalities makes for a great IEM pick. HUGE thanks to Dunu for providing these for review! About This Video

In this review I take a deep look at the Dunu SA6, a $550 “studio line” IEM that uses a 6 balanced armature design with a 60 ohm impedance and 113 dB/mW sensitivity. I go over the build (unique blue/orange faceplates, smoked clear shell, 2‑pin connectors) and comfort, which for me is in the upper end of what I’d call comfortable—short nozzle, good ear-shaped fit, and I don’t think most people will have issues. Dunu also absolutely loads the box with accessories, and the stock cable is honestly the best I’ve encountered: premium feel, flexible, and it uses Dunu’s swap system with extra 2.5mm and 4.4mm plugs. Sound-wise, there are two tunings: default and “Atmospheric Immersion,” which is basically a small (but audible) 2–3 dB bass lift. The overall tuning is very balanced through the mids with a peak around 2.5k, but there’s a notable dip around 5.5–6k that helps with sibilance while also making some treble sound a bit dull. Detail is solid for the price, staging/imaging are average to slightly above, but you do get BA timbre and BA bass—decent, not super punchy, and lacking some rumble and air up top. The big takeaway: the SA6 is the “baby U12T.” With Atmospheric Immersion on, the tuning measures very close to the 64 Audio U12T (my favorite IEM), but it doesn’t match the U12T’s bass quality, detail, or air. Still, at $550, I do recommend it—especially if you want that U12T-ish vibe on a more realistic budget.
