In this video I unbox and review the Balolo Setup Cockpit lineup and share my honest thoughts after living with it in my setup. I’ve been using the Grovemade desk shelf for about a year, so I’m pretty picky with desk shelves—especially when it comes to organization and keeping everything within arm’s reach. Balolo sent over the large black desk shelf plus the mid-sized oak and walnut versions, along with modular accessories like the new large trays, laptop dock, and holders. First thing I noticed: everything feels premium, and the packaging is eco-friendly with zero plastic, which I genuinely respect. What really made the Setup Cockpit stand out for me is the modular mounting grid underneath. It takes about 5–10 minutes to assemble accessories, and you can build a system around how you actually work. My favorite add-on is the new full-size large tray—because I literally suggested this to Balolo’s CEO months ago, and they actually listened and made it. I also love the iPad holder (perfect support for how often I use my iPad) and the thick wool felt desk pad, which is super easy to flatten, doesn’t shed, and lets my mouse glide smoothly. If I had to nitpick, the tray-to-feet proportions could be improved, and I’d love to see magnetic cable organizers using those steel trays. Price-wise, it’s expensive, but to me it’s a long-term investment if you take care of it.
