As someone who works from home all day, I know first-hand how much a workspace can affect your focus and inspiration. This video is Part 1 of my 2023 dark aesthetic home office series, and I’m basically walking you through the core of my desk setup—what I use every day, why I chose it, and what I’d change. If you’re building a cozy but functional setup, this is the “tour + reasoning” behind my current workspace. I start with the foundation: the IKEA KARLBY walnut countertop (236 cm) on two black ALEX drawers, plus a middle leg to prevent bending. I talk about why I love the look and texture, but also the real downside—KARLBY scratches easily—so I’ll show you how I protect it with my Grovemade desk pad and a felt pad on top. From there I go into the tech workflow: my 16-inch MacBook Pro (M2 Max) on a Grovemade walnut stand, the Huawei MateView as my main 3:2 productivity monitor, and why the LG DualUp isn’t ideal for me long-term because of neck pain.
