A lot changed since my last video: I quit my afternoon job and decided it was time to completely redesign my home office. In this makeover, I walk you through the full process—from planning the layout to the final styling—so you can see how the space went from my old setup to a warmer, cleaner, more functional workspace. I started by measuring the room and building an accurate scale model in Blender, then I patched holes, pre-drilled everything to avoid ruining fresh paint later, and used a few simple tricks (tape guides, cable detector, drill-bit tape) to get clean, repeatable results. The big visual upgrade is the contrast between deep gray walls and natural walnut: slat wall panels, Grovemade shelves, and a more intentional wall layout that keeps the aesthetic consistent. I also share one of my favorite practical decisions in the whole build—using closet hangers to mount the panels—because it keeps the panels undamaged, lets me remove them easily, and even gives space for cables behind. On the desk side, I assembled an IKEA UPPSPEL standing desk with a KARLBY countertop (with a few honest notes about wobble and noise), upgraded to Kanto YU speakers with walnut stands, and added a Philips Hue Go for that cozy night atmosphere. Finally, I talk plants, shelf load limits (learn from my mistake), and the small details that make the whole room feel like a “dream workspace.”
