About This Video

Chengdu honestly surprised me in the best way. In this vlog, I’m taking you through a day (and night) of exploring the city—starting with a super chaotic alley where everyone was offering tea samples. It was overwhelming, and I had to say “no thank you” a million times, but the shops were genuinely beautiful and so uniquely decorated. I also talked about something you should prepare for in a lot of Asian countries (not just China): the staring, the whispering, and people taking photos/videos because they’re curious. It’s not necessarily aggressive, but it can feel uncomfortable if you’re not ready for it. I also took you to a bridge/neighborhood we Googled and specifically came to see at night—and I’m so glad we did because Chengdu (and honestly Beijing too) looks two times better after dark with all the lights, bars, and karaoke energy. Then we did the panda experience, and yes… most of them were sleeping. The park is huge, and after 4 hours we still didn’t finish it, so I shared my honest take on who should (and shouldn’t) attempt the full thing. To top it off, we tried a 24-hour spa (Fu Fu Tang) with unlimited food, drinks, fruit, and ice cream, and I attempted hot pot for the first time. I also shared a few culture shocks (like the spitting) and my travel tip: always bring a mini med kit—because I ended up catching a cold and was so grateful I packed basics like cough drops and Tiger Balm.
