In this video I’m doing a true first-sniff of nine affordable, Middle Eastern-style fragrances (a bunch from Paris Corner, plus a couple from Ministry of Oud and one from Bujairami). I wanted you to see my real-time reactions—what I love immediately, what feels like it needs skin time, and what gives me that “sharp edge” that usually means a fragrance might not work for me. I also talk packaging (because yes, some of these bottles are gorgeous…and some are a little too kitschy for my taste). My biggest takeaways: I found several new favorites that smell way more expensive than they are. City Life (Bujairami) is the closest inspired version I’ve smelled to Xerjoff La Capitale, and it’s stunning for the price. Zari Amara gave me instant One Umbrella for Two vibes (love, love, love), and Plum Liquor was straight-up love at first sniff—tart, boozy plum that feels sexy but still wearable in the daytime. Oravea surprised me with an ultra-feminine, fruity-floral drydown. On the more unisex/masculine side, Oud Beyond the Wall, Gladiator’s Oath, and Lueur d’Espoir Silhouette all leaned warm, spicy, and sexy—definitely ones I need to properly wear-test on skin before I give final verdicts.
