About This Video

Hey guys—this vlog is the first “day in the life” of me building an AI startup while being in Y Combinator. I start the day around 9:30 after the gym (yes, we literally bashed our heads playing basketball, and this is exactly why I stick to aquatic sports). Then it’s straight into calls and work, because the days are pretty packed right now—especially with demo day getting closer. I also explain what my company does. We’re called Pomier (named after my favorite cookies), and we’re building an AI that understands any codebase—think ChatGPT, but for your code and the context around it. Right now we’re working on a bot that scans PRs, writes PR descriptions based on the diffs, and catches tactical or minor errors so engineers can focus on shipping features faster. Later, I head to a YC batch event at the YC office (we hear from the founder of Gmail), then come back for the night grind—down to arguing about the exact hex code for our UI. I wrap it up with how we got into YC: I got rejected for Winter ’24, then Harrison and I applied again, got grilled in the interview, pivoted mid-interview (like, five ideas ago), and somehow got in. Now it’s basically a countdown—30-ish days to demo day, pressure on.
