About This Video

This video is basically my Tuesday: a hard swim practice, a bunch of work calls, and trying to keep my energy together while I’m on-call. I start the day heading to the pool for a tough session (three rounds of 1250s with a mix of easy and fast), then immediately sprint into an 11:00 a.m. meeting because work has been busy lately—customer requests, issues, the whole thing. By 10:53 I’m already watching the clock, and by 11:24 I’m trying to reset my brain after practice and a shorter-than-usual meeting. After that, I head into the San Francisco office, grab lunch, and show you a little bit of the vibe there. I meet up with my friend Matt (he was in my very first “day in the life” video), and we have a mini full-circle moment because he’s moving back to New York while I’m still in SF. Later, I hit 264 for coffee because I’m exhausted and can’t really nap like I normally do. The day wraps around 7:00 p.m., but I’m still not fully off—since I’m covering on-call for a teammate, I have to deal with messages on the way home. I end the night with a simple dinner (sandwiches) and air compression for recovery, because training + software engineer life means you recover whenever you can.
