About This Video

In this video I break down one of the hottest lacrosse head drops I’ve seen in the past decade: the ECD DNA Diamond. This is the second head in ECD’s Project Beta, where they take an unorthodox material and bring it into their lineup—this time using that classic clear head aesthetic. If you remember the old-school clear heads like the Brine Edge Ice, you also remember the big problem: they were brittle, especially in the cold, and could straight-up explode on a catch or a hard check. What ECD did differently here is take that clear look and put it into their strongest mold—the DNA—plus we got confirmation directly from East Coast Dyes that it’s 100% playable. The original DNA was over six ounces, and the Diamond version gets shaved down to right around five, which is instantly noticeable in-hand. It won’t be as stiff as the original FlexForm DNA, but it should land in that “still very usable” range—similar stiffness to some of their nylon heads like the Rebel or Mirage II. Because it’s the same mold as the original, it’s super stringable with evenly spaced top string holes, and ECD stays true to being stringer-friendly. Mine came with a clean mid pocket (knots and ones) and even includes the black headstand and a gold foil sticker—Project Beta extras. Just know it was limited to 1,500 heads at $100, so depending on when you’re watching, it might already be gone.
